State tennis in Columbus, Ohio was a very long windy day. Around 6 am on Saturday morning I meet at the office to drive 2 1/2 hours to Columbus to shoot Perrysburg’s Julia Metzger who has a chance to the be state champion in singles tennis. The drive down wasn’t bad no traffic and it was early and the coffee was being consumed by the liter it seemed. Lets get back to tennis, we arrived at The Ohio State University tennis courts around 8:45am and the match started around 9am.

I can’t believe college hockey season is starting already. The college football season isn’t even half over and there playing hockey like its 35 degrees and snow on the ground (not looking forward to that). I made the best of the game. Have a D3 makes shooting hockey so much fun. Crank it up to ISO 4000 and your ready to roll.
Back to shooting more high school football. Its starting to get old fast as the teams I have been covering are horrible or all they do is run the ball and it makes for the same old imges over and over and…… Well I guess this game wasn’t to bad because of the beautiful dark blue sky. I wanted to get something kind of cool of Perrysburg, runing out on to the field that included the sky I was thinking about getting a low angle but I haven’t done a bunch of those lately so I thought it was time to mix it up.
Another week of covering high school football. This time I didn’t have to cover two games so I could focus on getting feature shots a long with good action. I was assigned to cover Otsego High school homecoming game. I had to get there extra early to shoot homecoming court mug shots! That was a joy, all the girls were freaking out to make sure they looked good enough and yadi yadi yada…. So I sat around editing some images for a while and then headed over to a local ice cream shop to get s chocolate milk shake before the game started. After a good conversation with the cute girl at the ice cream shop it was time to head back to the school to find my rock star parking spot and head out to the field.
Back to the grind at the fair, I can say one thing is its getting hard and harder every day to wake up and drag my self back. Today was especially hard because it was new 90 degrees high humidity but there was a slight breeze which didn’t make it to bad. So I took a little bit different approach today, my plan was on using the big puffy clouds in the sky to help make my images a little more interesting. I got a few where that help but nothing I was quite happy with. Back the the drawing board for tomorrow!
