aw1_2877

I shot my first Minor League baseball game of the year while the action wasn’t there but the light sure was nice.  The game started at 5:30 so I arrived at the stadium around 4:30 enjoyed an awesome media lunch and some ice cream before it was time to head down to the field to start shooting features.

Laguna Beach Wedding

aw2_5926

Two weekends ago I was out in sunny California shooting my cousins wedding. I am not a big fan of shooting weddings but this wedding changed my mind completely. I am going to skip all the bullshit I have about traveling and some of the funny stories I have with that because I have three other blogs I ned to get done.

It was a relatively small wedding about 40 or 50 people. I got to the brides house while she was getting ready to shoot some feature pre wedding stuff. I am going to skip writing about each photo because I think the photos do a really good job of telling a story.

Play Ball!

aw1_0670

After being constricted to shooting inside dark dungy for almost two months covering college and high school basketball it was time to get out side in the nice weather (well kind of nice) and shoot some baseball.

I head over to Perrysburg High School to shoot the varsity baseball game. My original plan was to do a remote some  were but I got there a little late and there wasn’t a really good spot to put it because most high school fields suck with shooting positions.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have been so busy it’s not even funny. Between School, Football, and Work I barely have any free time. But this past weekend I made sure I cleared my schedule for an awesome opportunity to shooting Boxing in Youngstown, Ohio.

After a long weekend of shooting a favorite of events I spent most of Monday relaxing watching a movie and catching up on TV shows. With 2008 coming to an end, I went back and look through all of my photos and picked a dozen that I thought were really strong so here we go.

Lets start in May when I got the chance to shoot my first Major League Baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees. Tigers Ryan Raburn slides safely into home.

This was an extremely busy weekend for me. Lets start with Friday. I hung out most of the day watching football then around 1:00 pm I head to the football stadium to get ready for the battle of I-75. The battle of I-75 is a college rivalry game between the University of Toledo and the Bowling Green Falcons. Just 25 miles separate the two schools.

Otsego Homecoming

Another week of covering high school football. This time I didn’t have to cover two games so I could focus on getting feature shots a long with good action. I was assigned to cover Otsego High school homecoming game. I had to get there extra early to shoot homecoming court mug shots! That was a joy, all the girls were freaking out to make sure they looked good enough and yadi yadi yada…. So I sat around editing some images for a while and then headed over to a local ice cream shop to get s chocolate milk shake before the game started. After a good conversation with the cute girl at the ice cream shop it was time to head back to the school to find my rock star parking spot and head out to the field.

Abingdon, VA

I am currently in Abgindon, VA spending a week or two with famous Kicking Coach Doug Blevins, before football camp starts. We kick in the morning and in the afternoon and just hang out the rest of the day so sitting around the apartment is boring as shit after a while. So I decided to head out and take some pictures around the historic town and I get some images I was quite happy with. They are all vintage looking which goes great with old historic town. I am hoping to do a documentary out of Coach this week and show the inside process of kicking a field goal. Not sure if I will do it for a day or do it for a week, we will and I will report back.
